Most people arrive in Punta Cana with a week, a hotel wristband and a vague plan to “do something one day”. Then the week goes, and the something never happens. This is the short version of what there is to do here, what each day actually costs, and how to pick the one that fits the group you came with.
First, the honest framing
There are hundreds of excursions sold in Punta Cana and most of them are the same five or six experiences resold under different names. We keep our menu deliberately short — five days out, plus transfers and private packages — because those are the ones we can stand behind and be present at.
Every price below is per person, in US dollars, and it is what you pay us. No booking fee on top, no online checkout, no deposit chase. You write on WhatsApp, we confirm the day and the pickup, and that is the booking.
1. The Hip-Hop Party Boat — US$75
Three hours on the Caribbean with the music loud, the bar open and a boat full of people who stop being strangers about ten minutes in. There is snorkeling over the reef and a stop at the natural pool — waist-deep turquoise out in the middle of the sea, which is the part everybody talks about afterwards.
Adults only. If you are travelling with kids, this is not your day — jump to Saona.
Best for: groups of friends, birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette trips, and anybody whose idea of a holiday includes a drink before noon. See the full day.
2. Saona Island — US$80
The postcard one, and the only full day on this list — eight to nine hours door to door. You go out on a catamaran with music and drinks, spend the middle of the day on the beach at Saona inside Cotubanamá National Park, eat a buffet lunch under the trees, and come back by speedboat with a stop at the natural pool where the starfish live. Look at them, don’t lift them out of the water — they are protected.
Lunch, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks are included. Departures are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Best for: couples, families, first-timers, and anyone who wants one day that justifies the whole trip.
3. ATV Adventure — US$70
This is the one that gets you out of the resort strip. Dirt trails through the countryside, a stop at Atabey Park where there is an underground freshwater spring, a Dominican farm where the coffee, cacao and tobacco actually grow and somebody explains them to you, and Macao Beach at the end so you can get in the sea with the mud still on you.
Four to six hours. Transport and guide are included; food and drinks are not, so bring a little cash. You can ride from six years old, and drive your own machine from sixteen.
Best for: people who get restless on a lounger.
4. Zipline — US$140
The first zipline circuit ever built in the Dominican Republic, and still the one with the two longest cables in the country and the Caribbean — one of them runs eight hundred metres. Eighteen platforms, twelve cables, about five hours from hotel pickup to drop-off.
All the gear is included, the system is double-line throughout and certified to Association for Challenge Course Technology standards. If somebody in your group wants to come but not fly, they can join as an observer for less.
Best for: the group where half the people say no and then do it twice.
5. Scuba Doo / Diving — US$100
Under the surface off Punta Cana. Write to us about this one and we will tell you which version fits your group and what it involves.
Getting there, and getting around
We also run private airport transfers from Punta Cana International. Send your flight and your hotel and we come back with a price — it depends on the zone and how many of you there are. Somebody is waiting when you walk out, which after a five-hour flight is worth more than it sounds.
If you want several of these days bundled with the transfer and a welcome on arrival, that is what the VIP packages are for.
How to actually pick
If you only have one free day and you came with your partner or your family, do Saona. If you came with your friends and the point is the friends, do the party boat. If you cannot sit still, do the ATV. If you want the story you will tell at home, do the zipline.
And if you genuinely do not know, message us and say so. Yobi would rather put you on the right day than sell you the wrong one — that is the whole business model, and it is why people come back.
Ready when you are
Tell us your dates, how many you are, and which hotel you are in. That is everything we need to come back with a price and a pickup time.
Message us on WhatsApp — or read more about each experience first.
